10 Wrestlers WWE Are Currently Dropping The Ball With

4. Randy Orton

Randy Orton is one of the most decorated wrestlers in WWE history. He’s someone the company will continually turn to whenever they need a big spot to fill, and he’s fresh off his 13th world title run. This makes him one of the most consistently pushed wrestlers around, but while WWE certainly aren’t dropping the ball with him in this regard, they seem to be doing all they can to make him the most unengaging performer on the roster at the moment.

‘The Viper’ is SmackDown’s dullest wrestler. His performances exhibit little spirit or fire, and he has spent the past few months cutting the same bland promo every single week. His actions in the Bray Wyatt feud present him as an entirely unsympathetic protagonist, and his ongoing rivalry with Jinder Mahal has done little to enhance his buzz.

Orton just isn’t a compelling babyface, and his presence is actively dragging SD’s main event scene down at the moment. Much has been said of Jinder’s negative impact on the WWE Championship, but Randy is just as culpable. He could be a big asset to the brand if working the villainous role he has always been better suited to, but WWE seem dead set on pushing him as a ‘good guy,’ despite the harm it’s doing to SmackDown’s product.
