Lacey Evans is WWE's 'Sassy Southern Belle'. She's a lady, one who wears pretty dresses and carries herself with class before punching a hole through their heads inside the ring. The gimmick couldn't be further away from Evans' upbringing as a nomadic child travelling between "homes" in the southern states.

Her early years were fraught, involved a shedload of drugs and were pretty unhappy. Oh, and Lacey also lived in a tent.

That was by far the most eye-opening admission during her interview with Post & Courier this week. The Raw Women's Title challenger literally lived in a tent and divided her time between Alabama and Louisiana. The whole experience was harrowing, not least because her dad had a serious drug habit that meant he couldn't hold down a stable job.

Those hardy years taught Evans a lot, and they're why she's such a hands-on mother to her daughter today. She should be respected for overcoming such a rough upbringing and using that hardship as fuel to become a star.
