10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (16 Oct)
4. RVD Went To Bat For Seth Rollins And The 'Curb Stomp'
There's been a lot of criticism recently over the fact that Seth Rollins has adopted 'The Pedigree'. The finishing move is more commonly associated with Triple H, but it's now Seth's main hold to finish off opponents. Up until the Spring of 2015, that wasn't the case. Instead, Rollins used the 'Curb Stomp', but the move has since been banned by WWE management. That's a real shame, because the stunt looked spectacular. Officials adjudged that there was too much risk involved with the move, especially in terms of the amount of concussions it could potentially cause. One star who was only too happy to take it was Rob Van Dam, and his incredible athleticism meant the move looked even more brutal than when performed on almost anyone else. In RVD's words this week, WWE wanted Rollins to stop using the move following an initial match between the pair in the Summer of 2014. Working extensively together during that period, Van Dam managed to convince road agents and other management to allow the move to stay for at least a while. If he hadn't, there's no way Rollins would have been able to hit Randy Orton with the 'Curb Stomp' to spectacular effect at WrestleMania.
