10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (16 Oct)

5. Becky Lynch Didn't Learn To Wrestle In A Ring

As of yet, Becky Lynch hasn't really been given the opportunity to show what she can do inside the ring on the main WWE roster. Acting as part of the splintered Team PCB unit, Lynch was even name-checked as a hanger-on by Paige during her infamous shoot-style promo several weeks ago on Monday Night Raw. WWE would be wise to allow Becky to tell her story, because it's an interesting one. Trained by Finn Balor, Lynch didn't even cut her teeth inside an actual wrestling ring. Instead, she worked mainly on mats, learning to bump and sell on a harder surface. That experience toughened the WWE Diva up, making her perfect for the rigours of the road. Becky underwent her first training sessions in June, 2002, but it's intriguing to note she was taking back bumps on hard mats and floors. Under the guidance of the ultra-fit Balor, Becky Lynch had to try and keep pace with the hectic regime. Obviously, due to her success, she managed to fight through the struggle. Most wrestling schools nowadays will offer at least some in-ring training, but it wasn't until she had her first match that Lynch was afforded the luxury of ropes and a spring canvas.
