There was a time - before WWE went 'PG' - when John Cena's finishing move was called the 'F-U'. Obviously, this was treated as an insult to opponents, his STF submission hold also being modified to be named the 'STFU'. Since WWE turned more corporate and child-friendly in 2008, that has changed.

The submission hold is now simply dubbed the STF, whilst his main finisher has been renamed the 'Attitude Adjustment'. The move is still the same, seeing Cena hoist his foe over his shoulders before flipping them over onto their back in one fluid movement. The move wasn't originally Cena's ideam however.

Speaking with YES Network for their Centerstage program, Cena revealed that it was actually Tommy Dreamer who recommended the move to him. During his ECW days, Dreamer often made use of a Death Valley Driver, a move with the same starting position as the Attitude Adjustment.

In the infancy of his WWE career, Cena was delighted to receive advice from the veteran and make the move his own trademark.
