In a prime example of wishful thinking, there were some hoping that Shawn Michaels would come out of retirement solely for a one-on-one match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania. Naturally, this was all talk, and the Heart Break Kid has no plans to step foot inside the ring once again, even for a bout opposite AJ.

Talking with Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard, the legend said a lot of work goes into creating a worthwhile match between two wrestlers so similar; although he did also put over AJ's talent, Shawn went on to say that he's much better at getting beaten up and selling for slightly larger opponents, so a match opposite someone bigger would be his preference.

Specifically, Michaels name-checked Samoa Joe as an ideal fantasy foe.

Crediting Joe's work as "good and crisp", the man once dubbed 'Mr. WrestleMania' also mentioned the bigger man's rugged look and tough persona as perfect foil for his never-say-die attitude as a performer; Michaels believes Joe's style would make his own job easy, and if he was still wrestling he'd love to bounce around the ring for the Samoan.
