Daniel Bryan has been involved in his fair share of bait and switches, hasn't he?

Off the back of 2014's Royal Rumble, it looked like we were going to have to settle for a WrestleMania XXX WWE World Heavyweight Championship main event fought between two former Evolution buddies in then-champ Randy Orton and returning Rumble winner Batista.

Despite fans making it known that they wanted Bryan in the main event, WWE ignored their protests and continued to promote the clash. 'The Authority' even cost Bryan yet another chance to win the belt inside of the Elimination Chamber.

Alas, it looked like we were going to be force fed 'Bootista' vs. Orton on the Grandest Stage and Bryan would probably have to settle for an Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal spot.

That was until a p*ssed off Bryan eventually challenged Triple H to a match at 'Mania and it was later agreed that whoever won said bout would be joining the main event contest for the title.

Bryan did the business in the opening match at 'Mania and went on to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, standing tall with both belts held high above his head.

Fans were ready to crap all over Orton/Batista and WWE knew this. So, they wisely made us believe we were going to be subjected to this unoriginal ending for weeks, only to switch things up late in the day and thus give us the champion we wanted all along.
