In NXT, The Ascension were a dominating heel duo capable of beating anyone. On the main roster, the vampire-like gimmick has been tweaked, and thus far it hasn't been of benefit. Konnor and Viktor have been part of the main squad since late-2014, and they've yet to really look convincing. The team have been portrayed as similar to The Road Warriors, Demolition and Powers Of Pain, but they lack the intimidating size those tandems possessed during their heyday. That's a problem, because fans have been conditioned to expect these face-painted tag-teams to be of a certain stature. Worse yet, The Ascension haven't been helped by shoddy booking. That old stop/start mentality to writing has plagued the duo terribly. Most recently, The Ascension have been seen jobbing to the likes of The Prime Time Players and other teams on smaller shows such as Superstars and Main Event. They're in a rough spot, because their bad-ass heel gimmick relies on The Ascension looking strong. Thus far, they've looked anything but.
