10 WWE Main Event Feuds That Didn't End At WrestleMania

1. Triple H Vs The Rock

Triple H's WrestleMania 16 victory over The Rock, Mick Foley and The Big Show marked the first time a heel had closed the 'Show of Shows' with the top title in tact, and left those in attendance and audiences watching on pay-per-view in complete shock.

It was a risky, but outstanding financial decision by the company at a time when they really could do no wrong.

The fatal four-way's biggest pull came from the inevitable clash between natural rivals Triple H and The Rock, and though this delivered a small taste of violence between the two, there was still money in a singles clash.

Delaying The Rock's eventual WWE Title win until April's Backlash event, the company drew an astonishing 675,000 buys, dwarfing every non-WrestleMania pay-per-view figure up to that point. It still remains only second to 2001's 'Invasion' event to this day for all-time records.

The duo's momentum carried on to Judgment Day a month later, where an exhilarating Iron Man match ending in a 6-5 victory for Triple H drew another outstanding number and forced one more go around between the pair as part of a six-man main event at King of the Ring.
