10. Gimmick Matches Using Their Surroundings More?
From @SuperTeamKid: Why don't the gimmick matches (HIAC, EC) incorporate more of the gimmick in matches?
It's a safety thing more than anything else. WWE doesn't want anybody getting hurt in any match because of some crazy bump using a weapon or some kind of apparatus surrounding the ring. With that said, the recent Elimination Chamber matches were pretty vicious at times. There were some guys taking bumps on the steel outside the ring and there really isn't much give on that. They didn't break too many of the pods like we have seen in past years, though. Regarding Hell in a Cell, most of the time they are pretty tame compared to what we saw in the early years of the match when guys like Shawn Michaels and Mick Foley took crazy bumps. Last year's HIAC had Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose doing bumps off the side of the cage with the tables there to break their fall. It was similar to Michaels' HIAC bump, but the current tables provide a softer landing area. There's no more intentional blood in WWE, no more dangerous chair shots and when weapons are used they are going to try to be as safe as possible. They want to entertain the fans, but common sense has to apply too.
