10 WWE Royal Rumble Eliminations That Infuriated Fans

1. Roman Reigns (Batista - 2014)

The ending of the 2014 Royal Rumble will forever be regarded as a time when the WWE creative team got things tragically wrong. As fans bayed desperately for Daniel Bryan, poor Rey Mysterio was put in a no-win situation by being the 30th entrant in the match. Suddenly, it dawned on people that Bryan wouldn't be involved in the bout, which sadly meant everyone else involved bore the brunt of their anger. Batista, who had just returned to WWE, got the worst of it. He was supposed to be the all-conquering hero, a big-name babyface who would help WrestleMania XXX pull a monster buyrate. At the Rumble, fans appeared to wish that he hadn't come back at all. Interestingly, Roman Reigns was given bigger cheers when it came down to he and 'The Animal' as the final two. By the time Batista had reversed on Reigns and chucked him to the floor, fans were beyond restless. Letting management know their negative feelings, the vast majority of people in the audience booed and jeered as the pay-per-view went off the air. A Reigns win wouldn't have set the world on fire, but it was very much the preferred option for many inside the building that night. What other Royal Rumble eliminations baffled you?
