Kurt Angle wrestled 215 matches on WWE SmackDown, but if you can name his first opponent without looking then you are something of a WWE trivia freak. Even with clues you won't get it! He was a member of a stable with two other men on this list, returned to battle against old stable leader The Undertaker in the mid-2000s and had a super cool entrance...

Okay, with all those clues you'd more than likely get it. I'm talking about Gangrel, Kurt Angle's first SmackDown opponent and third WWF challenger in total (after Shawn Stasiak and The Godfather).

Kurt Angle surprisingly left WWE in 2006, and turned up in TNA a few months later. His final WWE match actually took place on ECW against Sabu, but his final SmackDown bout came three months earlier as he defeated Rey Mysterio by count out.

The second of the SmackDown Six to feature on this list (two more are to come), Kurt Angle was synonymous with SmackDown for its finest times, a true workhorse professional of wrestling who put on great matches on a weekly basis.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
