10 WWE Things That Must Happen Before WrestleMania 38

1. A Complete Creative Overhaul

The past 20 years have told us that nothing in WWE can change without a complete creative overhaul.

No matter who's sitting in the writer's room or who runs the meetings, Vince McMahon still has the final say and is likely to change his mind at the last minute, shredding days of preparation on a whim. His word is still law. Bruce Prichard has a nice, shiny Executive Director job title on Raw or SmackDown, but WWE is the Vince McMahon show.

It's all very well fantasy-booking cool ideas for feuds, matches, and storylines, many of which would draw, but this is a pointless endeavour until something changes at the top of the pile. Ultimately, the only thing that can cure WWE's creative ails is a revolution.

A revolution that won't come.

McMahon is 75 years old and no closer to retiring than he was 10 years ago. His company is more profitable than ever before and, as asserted by Nick Khan on Colin Cowherd's podcast, more concerned with expanding into other mediums than anything else. "Fixing" the wrestling side isn't a priority because WWE doesn't see itself as a wrestling promotion.
