Moose Impact
Impact Wrestling

Like Rohit Raju, Moose made a significant change to his Impact persona in 2020 that stepped him up a level in terms of importance throughout the past twelve months. After going on a rampage against past TNA icons, such as Chase Stevens and Kid Kash, the former NFL offensive tackle brought the TNA World Heavyweight Championship back on the second half of Rebellion at the end of April.

It was a simple move from 'Mr. Impact Wrestling'. He's never been able to capture the World Championship, but he's become so oblivious to his surroundings that he's now deemed himself the real World Champion. It's hardly a unique story obviously, however, it made you give a toss about Moose for the first time since his heel turn.

Now, this writer has had his nitpicks with Moose since he picked the TNA title out of the storage cupboard, but when you look at this from a whole, the TNA champion went on to have a handful of entertaining performances. His matches vs. Heath and Trey Miguel especially were excellent, and the Willie Mack contests, although seemingly neverending, have allowed Moose to showcase a new side to him. Decimating a defenceless 'Chocolate Thunder' at Turning Point was a defining moment for the former Grand Champion.

His Slammiversary and Bound For Glory contests against Tommy Dreamer and EC3, respectively, were a tad underwhelming, but the latter saw Moose debut this new vicious side to him that we mentioned against Willie Mack. Even the more dismal matches can offer something, at least. Going forward, Moose needs to get into the Impact World Championship scene as soon as possible. We all know where this is leading - it has to be a unification, right?

Regardless, 2020 has been great for Moose. Maybe, just maybe, the best work of his career.
