11 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling No Surrender 2021

5. Tommy F'N Dreamer

Guilty as charged, your writer assumed Rich Swann vs. Tommy Dreamer was being built up far too perfectly to actually be as good as they were making it feel. As they proved, your writer was wrong.

Both men delivered pay-per-view-quality performances that, considering Dreamer turned fifty years old here, was a massive surprise. His 'normal' pro wrestling matches these days are garbage usually. He's still got it in abundance. That he literally popped his finger back into place after it became dislocated is enough of a reason to prove this.

The match was constructed to make you believe we were crowning a new World Champion, which we were never going to see of course. Yet, here he was getting near falls off of rollups and Dreamer Drivers. Considering Dreamer wouldn't be put down until after he'd been kicked in the face a dozen times and had Swann land on him via Phoenix Splash is a key fact here; ol' Tom can still go.

Like with the beatdown of Jake Something following his match vs. Deaner, Moose running in to lay out both Swann and Dreamer didn't really need to happen here, and rather should have waited until Tuesday at the earliest. It's understandable, as you want to end the event on a high, but the point remains. This night wasn't about Moose. That aside, a phenomenal match here that blew your writer's expectations away.
