11. The First Title Change In Raw History

Although its first broadcast occurred in 1993, Monday Night Raw didn't see the top title change hands until almost four years down the line. The new champion wasn't so much a surprise himself - Sid had already held the WWF Championship a few months prior, upsetting Shawn Michaels at Survivor Series 1996 - but the situation certainly didn't seem ripe for a title change.

Bret Hart had won HBK's vacated title at In Your House the previous night, and came into Raw looking a dead cert against this hulking opponent. Instead, Hart's fierce rival Austin interfered, smashing (or, rather, bopping) the Hitman with a steel chair, allowing Sid to score a huge victory on free TV.

The switch was even more surprising given the fact that WrestleMania 13 was right around the corner, this change leading to Sid vs. Undertaker and an absolute classic in the form of Austin vs. Hart.
