Hulk Hogan's defeat of Triple H at Backlash 2002 is the sort of thing we've seen time and time again in the wrestling business, but it still remains a shocking switch whenever it happens.
It's always rather jarring when an ageing legend wins a current championship, even a figure as iconic and beloved as Hulk Hogan. Although his victory received a predictable nostalgia pop, the match itself suffered from its babyface vs. babyface dynamic, as well as an interference-heavy finish featuring the Undertaker.
Hogan's reign lasted just a few weeks, before he dropped the belt at the next pay per view to 'Big Evil' himself (after a disappointingly sandbagged chokeslam).
