12 Superstars And Divas WWE Creative Have Completely Abandoned
9. The Ascension
The Ascension aren't the most gifted of tag teams, but they were thoroughly entertaining during their run in NXT. Unfortunately, they were pretty much doomed from the start when they hit the main roster, with the decision to pit them against jobbers and have the announce team ridicule them at every opportunity ensuring that they were never going to be able to get over with fickle WWE fans. Any momentum they might have had was lost when The Ascension were beaten up by a group of ageing veterans, and they've since been forgotten about. Sure, they're now involved in some sort of partnership with Stardust, but that has so far only really factored into SmackDown tapings, and even then it feels like little more than a desperate move to do something which characters WWE Creative appear to believe are similar in a mostly very vague way to comic book heroes and villains. What the future holds in store for The Ascension as part of that unexciting stable is hard to say, but it's impossible right now to imagine them becoming even a remotely popular tag team. The fact that their introduction was badly botched and a long stretch of time off TV has killed any and all interest, and both Konnor and Vicktor are probably best being written-off as an experiment at this stage.
