20 Worst Wrestling PPVs Of All Time

1. Heroes Of Wrestling

Heroes of Wrestling

Now this is special.

Heroes of Wrestling isn't just the worst professional wrestling events ever held, or even one of the worst sporting events ever held: it's one of the most embarrassing events in human history, period.

Where to start with this trainwreck? The commentary provided by Dutch Mantell, Lou Albano, and particularly Randy Rosenbloom was atrocious, and the production values were bad even for 1999. The show opened with an awkward blank screen and the sound of technicians setting up for the night, marking it was an entirely unprofessional broadcast from the start, and things only got worse from there.

Heroes of Wrestling was an utterly shambolic affair from a bunch of wrestlers well out of their prime. Nikolai Volkoff and The Iron Sheik wrestled a legitimate minus five star match with the Bushwhackers. Yokozuna could barely walk during the main event, let alone wrestle. Julio Fantastico and 2 Cold Scorpio wrestled a moderately acceptable match early on, but that's the extent of it. Heroes of Wrestling features some of the most calamitous wrestling you'll ever see, and that's a promise.

Heroes is best known for it's main event, however. Jake Roberts showed up drunk beyond belief, and his pre-match promo is something else:

"You don't want to play cards with me because I'll cheat. Okay? I cheat. You wanna play 21? I've got 22. You want to play blackjack? I've got two of those, too! You wanna play aces and eights, baby? I got too many of those, too!"

Just...why?!

The ensuing match - featuring Jake and Yoko teaming against Jim Neidhart and King Kong Bundy - fell apart almost immediately. The highlight saw Jake removing Damien from his bag, putting him between his legs, and... ahem, stroking. You can't make this up.

Depending on your sense of humour, Heroes of Wrestling will either make you laugh yourself to death or fall into a deep depression. It's a truly unique wrestling experience.
