20 WTF WCW Moments

15. Booker T Reverts To 'G.I Bro'

One of the most popular stars consistently throughout the 1990's in WCW, Booker T was the kind of wrestler fans hoped might be given a World Title run someday. Eventually, he was, but not before Vince Russo almost killed his buzz entirely by reverting him back to an old gimmick Booker had used before his WCW career began. In 2000, Booker T became 'G.I Bro'. The army character was badly explained to fans, who wondered exactly why Booker had started dressing like a military man. Joining the 'Misfits In Action' group, Booker only lasted a few short months in the role. Incredibly, this all happened just a few months before he was actually given the WCW World Title. Just a few short weeks before he vanquished Jeff Jarrett at Bash At The Beach in July, Booker faced Shawn Stasiak. That match took place at The Great American Bash, and Booker - as G.I Bro - defeated Stasiak in a 'Boot Camp Match'. The rules were similar to a Last Man Standing bout, but fans didn't want to see Booker wear camouflage. The gimmick shift was wholly unnecessary.
