25 'WWE Superstars' Matches That Were Actually Awesome
22. Cody Rhodes vs. Jack Swagger (May 22, 2014)
Shortly following WrestleMania 30, Cody Rhodes and Goldust slowly started to tease tension with each other. They failed to recapture the WWE Tag Team Championships after losing them to The New Age Outlaws at January's Royal Rumble event and it had been all downhill for them since that point. Although Cody constantly found himself on the losing end of a match more of than not, Goldust had more success in singles competition, causing the younger Rhodes brother to grow envious. With a split in the works, Cody was schedule to go one-on-one with Jack Swagger on the May 22 edition of 'Superstars'. Unlike on Raw, Cody and Swagger were given plenty of time to have the match they were capable of having. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3_kzz8bNdA In front of an electric England audience, the two young up-and-comers ripped it up and had a heck of a matchup. Despite a strong performance against the former World Heavyweight champion, the ending result was still the same for Cody as he mercifully tapped out to the Patriot Lock.
