3 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (April 5)

Downs…

8. Backstage Interviews Gone Wild

WWE’s backstage interviews have long become a joke, with correspondents showing up randomly with a camera in tow as wrestlers walk around the arena. But Monday’s pop-up interview might have taken the cake.

MVP was standing backstage when Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin accosted their former compatriot, calling him a fraud and hoping that Bobby Lashley loses this WWE Championship at WrestleMania. So far, so good.

But seconds after they left, Sarah Schreiber showed up out of nowhere and stuck a microphone in MVP’s face, asking about the encounter that had just taken place. It was the most WWE thing ever.

Now, they could have had MVP doing an interview with Schreiber and gotten jacked up by Shelton and Cedric during that chat, but to have her pop up out of thin air like that and recite some prose disguised as a question was just plain dumb.
