4. LA Knight Says A Whole Load Of Nothing

A common complaint with episodes of SmackDown that keeps popping up from some is that WWE kills far too much time with promos that ultimately mean nothing. LA Knight’s speech reeked of that before he wrestled Aleister Black. Even the live crowd, who are normally right up for yelling "YEAH" at the drop of a hat, were a bit noncommittal to most of what LA was saying.

In fairness to the fine folks of Bakersfield, it wasn’t exactly compelling to hear him run through every other competitor in the Money In The Bank ladder match and then say he’d win. This was a nothing promo from a guy who legit feels directionless and has done for a while now. Dropping that United States prize to Jacob Fatu might well be the worst thing that ever happened to Knight, 'cause he hasn't been able to shoot up the card onto bigger and better things.

At least not yet.

Triple H presumably told LA that he needed to go out, run through some of his catchphrase stuff, act like a tough guy and keep the audience warm for a few extra minutes. It was blatantly clear that the poor dude was running out of things to say almost as soon as he'd opened his mouth.

Incredibly, WWE repeated this trick with another popular star later on. Then, John Cena had to come around to show everyone how it's done. He somehow managed to make the most of his own speech despite obvious weakness to his own booking heading into the next PLE this weekend.
