4 Ups And 2 Downs From WWE NXT (Nov 4)

If I've said it once I've said it a million times. TakeOvers aside, NXT is great when you least expect it and then underwhelms when you're all geared up. So with a mix of relief and embarrassment, I file the much-hyped Halloween Havoc away near the top of 2020's pro-wrestling output and gleefully await what direction the brand takes the fallout. It always takes an exception to prove the rule.

Hope abounds too, as the week in between has seen not one, not two, not three, but four tantalising looking matches booked for NXT. Shotzi Blackheart's reward for her hosting efforts is a free hit on the women's division in the shape of Toni Storm, Cameron Grimes is paired with Kushida, Dakota Kai and Ember Moon finally get their hands on each other, and Tomasso Ciampa takes on Velveteen Dream in a lesser-spotted 'Oh, They're Still Here?' match.

With Survivor Series weekend fast approaching, and still no official announcement on WarGames, NXT is doing a lot of quiet build heading into a very noisy time of year. Something, somewhere, is going to have to give, and it's anyone's guess who's going to be in the shakeup for it all.
