4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (July 22)

3. Dana Brooke Is In The Way

Speaking of stars who are experiencing a malfunction in their charisma engine, Dana Brooke is still somewhat stiff in all aspects of her game. A backstage interview she gave with Emma was downright awkward, and Brooke didn't seem to be aware of why what she was saying was supposed to be funny, which isn't a great sign. When she debuted it was clear that the company were hot on the fitness competitor and it's not hard to see why, she has a proven-to-succeed look and a physique to die for, but she hasn't made the progress she needs to. Her rivalry with Charlotte has been brewing for a while now and many fans expected her to beat the next generation of Flair and use that momentum to dethrone Sasha Banks. Alas, no more. It seems that push is going to Bayley instead and, frankly, she's a much better candidate right now. Credit to NXT though for not dropping the Brooke/Charlotte feud like the main roster writers probably would have. Dana will still get her match with Charlotte, but she needs to be defeated and then step aside sharpish. If she works hard, her time will come, but it certainly isn't now.
