4 Ups And Downs From Last Night's WWE Smackdown (Feb 19)
1. Lack Of Competitive Matches Made It Boring
When Smackdown moved back to Thursday nights last night the thinking was that WWE would make it feel like an important show once again by putting big matches on it. That's what they SHOULD do. Instead, it feels very average and boring at times. This week they had a whopping nine matches in two hours, which meant a lot of short matches. There were eight matches that went 5 minutes or less. Eight! It's brutal. The main event went ten minutes, which is short for a Rollins/Ziggler match. The only comparison that can be made to this booking style is that of a WWE Superstars show from the early 1990s when they would have short matches and then a longer main event. It was as if they didn't put much thought into this week's Smackdown. They just went through the motions with a weak effort.
