They’ve always had it, and this was another example.

Charlotte Flair and Asuka put in some effort for their clash on SmackDown when it would've been easy for them to phone it in and let the story (the winner's team would get the advantage come WarGames) do most of the heavy lifting. At this point, it's clear to see that Flair and Asuka go into automatic 'let's have a banging match' mode whenever they're inside a wrestling ring together.

No, this guy can't lie and say he's particularly hot about the babyfaces having the advantage in any WarGames match, but WWE already handed the edge to the heels over on the men’s side. Saturday night's women’s WarGames match still feels crumblier than the last cookie in the pack, but this singles between Charlotte and Asuka was a nice watch.

Again, like with Knight vs. Miz, it won't win any 'Match Of The Year' awards or anything. That's OK. Not every single match needs to be some balls to the wall 5-star marathon. Sometimes, it's perfectly fine for 2 workers to get in, trade some nice stuff, then get out and celebrate a job well done. Flair and Asuka know they can crank it up hotter than this, but they also know they can have good matches without overexerting for no reason before the next PLE.

Chemistry carried them through, and the missed mist spot involving Asuka and a member of WWE's production team got over well with fans there live before the finish. Overall, this was the kind of gig you'd expect from solid pros who realise they've got a bruising bout to look forward to at the weekend.
