5 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE WrestleMania SmackDown (Mar 31)

4. Rey Mysterio Leads The New LWO

Right, forget the fact that Rey Mysterio technically never wanted to join the LWO back in 1998. Michael Cole brought that up, but WWE's writers aren't exactly going to obsess over plot points from WCW Nitro nearly 25 years ago. Nah, they're too busy trying to elevate Legado del Fantasma.

Bring it on.

Joining a group led by the Hall Of Famer won't hurt their prospects of more TV time one bit. This is a step up for Santos Escobar, Zelina Vega and pals, especially considering they weren't exactly doing much before rallying behind Rey against Judgment Day.

There's potential here. Also, not that this is particularly important, but yours truly got a kick out of seeing those old LWO t-shirts again. As an old-school WCW mark, it's sweet to see WWE bring back one of the promotion's most curious and short-lived spin offs.
