5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (1 May - Results & Review)

1. The Grudge Match Main

Skye Blue Willow Nightingale
AEW

Take a bow, Skye Blue and Willow Nightingale.

Many fans identified these women as future players in the division ages ago, and that's ringing true today. Personally, this writer could've done without the thumbtacks, barbed wire etc, but nobody can discount how hard these ladies worked to justify the main event spot here. Besides, they actually have some storyline history as partners then rivals.

It came across loud and clear from the first moment that they can't stand one another, which is what ultra-violent brawls like this one need if they're going to become more than just a string of big bumps. Wonky chair shot aside, this was an outstanding effort from the duo, and it cannot be the last time they wrestle one another in this sort of hardcore setting.

Sadly, Willow will probs be fed to Mercedes Mone at Double Or Nothing. If that wrecks her standing on the roster and sinks her growing credibility with the audience, then Tony Khan should be ashamed of himself. Does Mercedes honestly need a TBS Title run that badly?!

Top work all round from Skye and Willow.
