5 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (April 12 - Results & Review)
2. Tama Tonga’s Debut
Take a bow, Solo Sikoa.
The way Bloodline's typically-mute muscle shut Paul Heyman's promo down to point a finger of blame at Jimmy Uso was superb. That fed into the debut of one Tama Tonga, which was handled brilliantly. Being aligned with The Bloodline gives Tama instant credit with the core audience too, and opens up all sorts of other possibilities.
Presumably, this will lead to Jimmy reuniting with Jey, but there's a ton of content to get through before WWE reaches that emotional tipping point. In an instant, Solo's character has gone from stoic heavy to coldblooded killer taking matters into his own hands, and Jimmy might just glean a bit of sympathy from that over the next few weeks.
Anybody who witnessed some of Tonga's work in New Japan already knows what he's capable of. He might not become the focal point weekly, but Tama should deliver quality matches and angles to keep Bloodline business ticking during Roman's sabbatical.
That's a major plus.
