Tag-team wrestling in WWE? In the toilet.

Bron Breakker and Austin Theory haven't defended their gold since winning the belts in July over on Raw, the Women's Tag Title scene is a mess (more on that to come), and the SmackDown men's division is no better. MFTs vs. Bakusai was announced for this week, but WWE scripted a brawl between both teams when Kyoki stole Haku's walking stick.

Tama and Talla Tonga didn't take kindly to that. Instead of calming things down and getting the match in the ring (which has happened a million times), officials waved this bout off and moved on with the show. Hmm, it's obvious that this brawl happened because WWE knows the rivalry isn’t interesting and live crowds don’t care.

Things will likely end in a title change, probably, but the creative team has already thrown the towel in on Bakusai, and they’re hardly coming through for the Tongans either. There's no meat on the bone to any of this. The storyboard could be written on a post-it note, and WWE has decided that Kyoki acting all weird is enough character development for he and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Spoiler alert: It bloody well isn't. Promotions are supposed to give audiences a reason to invest and care about seeing fresh acts win titles. Where do we go from there if Bakusai beats the MFTs and takes tag straps no-one really gives a damn about as it is?

Does Triple H just hate tag-team wrestling, or something?! His handling of it is rather shocking.
