5 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE SmackDown (27 June - Results & Review)
1. Well, That Tag Title Match Sucked!
SmackDown's tag-team division has been one of the best things about the show since it went to a 3-hour format this past January. Teams like The Street Profits, Los Garza, Motor City Machine Guns, DIY, Pretty Deadly and (more recently) Fraxiom have received loads of well-earned plaudits for putting on bangers in their sleep and scrapping over the belts.
At first, it looked like The Wyatt Sicks would add to the doubles party and make things even better, but they haven't. Look, this guy normally has no problems with DQ finishes on the TV shows if they’re done well and further an interesting story, but that’s not what happened on Friday. No, The Profits vs. The Wyatts went to a non-finish after some seriously dull action, then The Sicks cleaned house as usual before Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins fought back to stand tall.
Is anybody else over this faction now? It was a lovely idea to pay tribute to Bray, but Uncle Howdy and gang just do the same stuff over and over without really affecting anything, and there's pretty much zero desire to see The Sicks get another title shot. Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy are a lifeless team with no chemistry together, and it's sure saying something that they've just handed The Profits one of their worst bouts in 2025.
If Triple H wants to keep Howdy and pals around, then he really needs to have a think about the best way to utilise them. This ain't it. The Sicks are hampering others in SmackDown's tag division, which is the complete opposite of what they're supposed to be doing.
