5 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (July 29)
4. Chad Gable Is Going To Be A Big Deal
This came up last week, but it bears repeating: keep an eye on Chad Gable. He's going to a big deal. With an olympic pedigree and a cocky charisma bolstered by genuine talent, he's going to be a purist's dream. If he can develop his promo skills even more (they're already good) then there really is nothing stopping him from being the next Kurt Angle, and I don't make that comparison lightly. He's already started to build a following in NXT for his dexterity and showmanship. The crowd chanted for him again last night before he even got into the match, a very encouraging sign. He's a bit smaller than the Olympic Wrestling Machine, but with WWE focusing less on muscle-bound adonises and more on athleticism with each passing year (gradual progress, but it's still progress), with the right booking and a few killer additions to his move-set, there won't be anything to stop him. "Ready, willing and Gable" is a bit too silly a catchphrase for someone who will likely make his name off showy wrestling fundamentals, but hey, it's a start. This is a lofty prediction, but unless injury strikes, expect Jordan and Gable to be ruling the tag division before the year is out, a feud between the two men within the following year, and a singles title for Gable within the next. I'm calling it right now.
