5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 19)

4. A Beastly Beatdown

Brock Lesnar Roman Reigns
WWE

For weeks, WWE has been teasing and not delivering on an encounter between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. It largely was done to sell Brock as an ingrate who didn’t respect the fans in another attempt to make them cheer for Roman.

While that hasn’t necessarily worked how WWE would have liked, we did get an epic beating that certainly solidified Brock’s standing as a villainous champion. Lesnar waited until Reigns was handcuffed to run down to ringside and demolish the challenger with German suplexes and chairshots, finally finishing him off with an F-5. Brock then tipped Roman’s stretcher over to add insult to injury.

Although that might not make fans rally to Roman’s side, it was done in a way that made it clear that Brock is willing to cut corners (attacking a handcuffed man) to protect his title. (But if/when this fails and Roman is mercilessly booed at WrestleMania, it will be a huge “down” as a failure.)
