5 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE NXT (May 6)
4. The Tag Match Is SAWFT
Halfway through the show, a team called Dawson and Wilder ambled down to the ring. They appeared to be a slightly more vanilla version of the Bushwhackers, but hey that's fine, let's see how they wrestled. Only no, let's not. The scheduled match between them and Enzo and Big Cass never took place, owing to a blindside attack backstage by Blake & Murphy. While this certainly fanned the flames of their rivalry, seeing the previously-Carmella-oriented feud turn vicious would have garnered a lot more heat out in front of the live crowd. Perhaps Dawson and Wilder could have got in a few moves then, when Enzo and Cass looked to take victory, Blake and Murphy could run down and brutalise the Jersey duo? It would have racked up a stack of boos for the somewhat lukewarm heel champs and made the middle section of the show feel more substantial from an in-ring perspective. The attack, shot in gloomy backstage darkness instead, could only be really called one thing. And Big Cass can spell it out for ya.
