5 Ways To Have Better Handled The Vacant WWE Championship

2. The Use Of Money In The Bank

Spoiler alert, Sheamus ended up with the WWE title anyway right? Why not build his heat by having the Authority just award Sheamus the title since he had not yet cashed in his Money In The Bank briefcase. Or, since the title was vacated, couldn't Sheamus have made some silly argument about cashing in against "vacant" and be awarded the title? By simply presenting the title to Sheamus, this situation would've added to, or at least given the man some type, any type, of heat and maybe it could've come with some strings attached? If Sheamus didn't have to "cash in", perhaps the Irishman was forced to forfeit his briefcase since it was never used, and because it was never used, it could have been held up for another group of competitors to fight for? Or maybe Sheamus kept the briefcase and became the first superstar in history to hold both the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and the Money In The Bank briefcase at the same time. Similar to Chris Jericho's claim of defeating The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin on the same night, that's quite an accomplishment and could stay with Sheamus for the rest of his career.
