Mick Foley has had a legendary, Hall of Fame career that has seen his popularity endure so much so that today he is the General Manager of Monday Night Raw. From his Hell in a Cell plunge to the invention of Mr. Socko, Foley has left a legacy that will be talked about for decades to come. His place in wrestling history is assured.

For all of Mrs Foley's Baby Boy's highlights, however, there have been one or two iffy moments. Foley erased a lot of goodwill with his repeated comebacks post-No Way Out 2000 (some of them did result in great matches, mind) and he received stick for turning up in TNA in 2008, too.

What few people remember is that Foley turned up in Dixieland following a brief spell as colour commentator for Smackdown. He debuted at Backlash in April, slotting in alongside Michael Cole. While Foley received praise in some quarters for his analysis and enthusiasm, all was not well behind-the-scenes.

Come August, Foley was removed from his position and word was that he felt the environment was 'creatively challenging'. Translated, he didn't like Vince McMahon screaming in his headset while he was trying to do his job and, as a former WWE Champion and a twenty-year veteran, felt as though he commanded more respect from his boss.

Oh, how naïve of him. Foley was written-out of storylines when he was attacked by Edge and then sat out for a month while his contract expired.
