Goosebumps spread like wildfire when news blared out that Kurt Angle had rejoined WWE from TNA in 2017. A Hall Of Fame induction was announced, then Kurt was reintroduced as the new General Manager of top brand Raw. Things looked like they were heading in the right direction, but fans desperately craved some more marquee matches like Angle vs. Roman Reigns, Angle vs. Seth Rollins or maybe even one last Angle vs. Brock Lesnar collision.

Exactly none of those happened.

Instead, WWE went the soap opera drama route by having commentator Corey Graves tell Kurt that some "scandalous" news was about to leak about him. Angle said this could ruin his career, and he wasn't wrong. Eventually, in July, the Olympian revealed that he had a son: American Alpha's Jason Jordan. Fans were shocked, but not in a happy way.

If anything, most wondered if everybody had ingested hallucinogenics at WWE catering. There had to be something funny in the buffet sandwiches, because this was rather out-there. Out-there can work, but the whole ordeal was typically half-baked (as opposed to fully-baked like the writers!) and fizzled out before anyone could really sink their teeth into things.

Look at the guy in the green shirt and cap above. He knew that this "emotional father and son get together" would turn out to be a clanger. It did. Jordan was unfortunately forced to retire due to injuries (which isn't WWE's fault), and nobody recalls that Kurt Angle is his kayfabe dad with anything other than an eye roll.

It wasn't the worst Kurt moment ever, but more on that later.
