Hats off to Michael Cole for summarizing the stupidity on screen Monday night as succinctly as possible.

If you’re trying to follow along at home, Chad Gable was struggling to defeat luchadores so he traveled to Mexico to learn the secrets of Lucha Libre. He was given a mask and re-emerged as El Grande Americano, a heel. He got injured, and Ludwig Kaiser assumed the role (get it? He’s twice Gable’s size!). Kaiser employed New Catch Republic (Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate) as Los Americanos, also masked wrestlers.

Kaiser’s El Grande Americano became a babyface in AAA but remained a heel on American television. Then Gable returned as “Original” El Grande, a babyface who befriended Rey Mysterio. But in Mexico, he’s a heel who brought the Creed Brothers to help attack Kaiser last week.

Finally, on Monday, the Creeds were now under masks alongside Gable in a trios match, presumably wrestling as the babyfaces.

The match was fine because the 6 men involved are all capable of delivering in the ring. The storyline is ridiculous when trying to split it between WWE and AAA because not everything carries over, and on Raw it just looks exactly as Cole described it: “6 imposters pretending to be luchadores.”

They’ve lost the plot so thoroughly that it’s not even amusing anymore.
