6 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Dynamite (May 28)

5. Hangman Draws A Line In The Sand

Hangman Page Brian Cage

Hangman Page bagged a solid win over Joey Janela (who has fallen quite the height since wrestling Page in that 'Chicago Street Fight' at All In three years ago), then followed that up with some great fire and rare smarts for a wrasslin' babyface. That was an unexpected treat.

Page palmed off Taz's attempts to distract him, called Ricky Starks and Hook mere props, and challenged Brian Cage to face him "like a man" at Double Or Nothing. This was a nice piece of business, one that didn't overstay its welcome on the broadcast or try to do too much.

Even Cage shone with the few lines he had, and talking isn't really a strength of his.

The addition of (accidental) blood smearing the face of Hangman added to the intensity of the face-to-face portion too. It was a nifty idea to keep Bri's backup at bay and pop Taz on the announce table so he couldn't be much of a factor either.
