6 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (March 2)

2. Violent By Thatcher's Design

Having lost two matches in a row to Jake Something, Deaner was forced to accept his fate at the hands of Joe Doering. At the request of Eric Young, Deaner was subjected to a merciless beating in a dim-lit room by the former All Japan hoss, and was then left locked inside. Yikes.

Like with Timothy Thatcher's callous means during his training school skits on NXT last year, this doesn't sit too well in the current landscape of wrestling. Now, considering the timing of those Thatcher skits coming around the time of the #SpeakingOut movement, it was met with an incredibly negative response. It compares in no way to the stories we heard, however, the response was still there. This fits into the same category as Thatcher.

Less of this, please. It doesn't need to even be stated. It's as simple as can be. VBD is a great act, but they don't need to be sinking to this level just to incorporate something new.
