6 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling Sacrifice 2021
1. Stodgy Opener
Kicking off Sacrifice with Decay vs. Reno Scum, a match that very few people actually cared about, was a terrible booking decision all things considered. Why start an anticipated event with such a meaningless encounter?
Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus working a predominantly slow match just didn't sit well with this writer. It worked when it was Adam Thornstowe and Luster The Legend who had control, but why would Decay wish to keep working rest holds when they held the advantage? We know what they can do. Let them do it.
Between both teams allowing the other to perform tag team manoeuvres while their respective partner looked on without a single care and Crazzy Steve's hot tag offence consisting of a back rake and a Russian legsweep, there wasn't much to enjoy about the action that wasn't slow. Rosemary's green mist to Luster's eyes incapacitated him, opening the door for a Taurus Driver to Thornstowe.
Decay remain undefeated on pay-per-views/Impact Plus specials throughout 2021 - yay? It simply doesn't matter if they're going to consistently be booked against such low-ranked duos. Commentary mentioned how this match could put the winning team in line for a title opportunity; it's not 1 April quite yet, lads.
