6 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling Sacrifice 2021
4. Good Brothers Get Juiced
FinJuice dethroning The Good Brothers of the World Tag Team Championships was undisputedly one of the biggest swerves in recent Impact history. Even with The Forbidden Door being opened, it just didn't seem plausible for a New Japan pairing, especially Juice Robinson and David Finlay, to end Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson's title reign.
Yet, they did, and they did so in a cracker of a match.
There was a crucial story being told throughout the match. While The Good Brothers are multi-time IWGP Tag Team Champions, FinJuice only held the titles once. That reign? It lasted less than a month, clocking in at just 28 days. Because of this, Gallows and Anderson dominated Finlay and Robinson for large portions of the match, isolating Finlay at one point, and then isolating Robinson later on. Anderson busted out a sweet spinebuster on Finlay towards the culmination of the match, which should come as no surprise given his surname.
When Doc Gallows was ejected from the ring not long after, there was a feeling that this was FinJuice's night. That didn't prevent the shock of it all, though. A Doomsday Device to 'The Machine Gun' crowned Finlay and Robinson as the new Impact World Tag Team Champions. They've accomplished what AEW's Private Party couldn't. They've taken full advantage of The Forbidden Door. They've made history. Now, according to one of Inside The Ropes' Gary Cassidy's sources, they're taking the straps back to New Japan.
Professional wrestling is amazing when it's like this.
