6 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (16 March)

2. Are We Supposed To Like Shera?

The traditional David vs. Goliath routine in wrestling simply doesn't work when the David of the match is the definitive heel; in this case, that was Rohit Raju. As for Shera? It looks as if he's now a babyface. You'd never have guessed, though. 'The Indian Lion', as he's now calling himself, hasn't changed a thing about himself, regardless of if he's a babyface or a heel.

He was also defeated by Rohit Raju, albeit through nefarious means as 'The Desi Hitman' placed his feet across the ropes during the winning pinfall attempt. Technically speaking, it didn't really come out of nowhere, as Rohit had gotten in a decent chunk of offence throughout the contest, including his gnarly pouncing knee. Shera went shoulder-first into the ring post right before the pinfall, so it sort of worked.

It just didn't click.

Shera doesn't work as the good guy. When he was the perennial babyface during his initial stint in Impact, doing his God awful dance routine, it was dismal. He's not meant to be the babyface; he has to be the bad guy at all times. Even if this was a heel vs. heel contest, it was underwhelming. Given the shady conclusion, we might not be done with this quite yet.
