6 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Mar 27)

1. A Fiendish 'Firefly Fun House' Match Challenge

Bray Wyatt's promo on this week's SmackDown was yet more proof that he should never have been handed that Universal Title last year.

He's one of the best characters WWE has on their roster, and he didn't need a belt to validate that. This week, Wyatt chirpily blended (ahem) silliness, Joker-like delusion and superior promo skills to come up with a speech that felt vibrant and interesting. Then, he challenged John Cena to a 'Firefly Fun House' stipulation.

This gimmick match is the best direction for everyone involved. It elevates the Cena vs. Wyatt match above most others on the WrestleMania weekender, and it plays to some more of Bray's strengths that were, being honest, lost in front of live audiences inside the ring.

Wyatt's transformation from cheery children's TV host into the 'Fiend' was SmackDown's best segment by a long way. There's hope yet for a persona that WWE's crappy booking almost destroyed completely.
