We've somehow found ourselves only mere days away from yet another NXT TakeOver event, with Vengeance Day set to land on our screens this Sunday. Before we got to the brutal Valentine's substitute, however, a few Dusty Cup final places still needed to be decided.

Would NXT's newest pair of high-flying Rascalz be able to overthrow the Lucha Empire? Would a set of grizzled, youthful-yet-experienced arse-kickers have what it takes to out-brutalise a team of make-shift monsters? Could a thrown together squad of fiery faces out-strategise a different Way of thinking? All these questions would find varying answers before the black and gold night reached its end.

Elsewhere, titanic TakeOver showdowns were hyped via enthralling video packages, Doomsday crept closer for a certain 'Emperor of Lucha Libre', and one particular NXT star seems to have invested wisely in GameStop.

Refusing to buck the unfortunate trend of late, this was once again far from a perfect show, with mind-boggling interferences and odd promotion tactics seen on a number of occasions. But, the latest edition of NXT still just about did enough to get people excited for what is no doubt going to be another evening of critically acclaimed in-ring action; Just excuse some of the b*llocks that came before it.
