6 Ups And 2 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Aug 16)

4. Fine Women's Tag-Team Match

Even before Eva Marie and Naomi intruded on their match, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Natalya and Alexa Bliss were having a fine little scrap. As it turned out, this was all set up for a six-woman tag bout that would be announced later for SummerSlam, but it would have worked well even if it had been a straight match.

In particular, Becky Lynch looked raring to go. Her intensity during matches is fantastic, and she was the undoubted star of the tag before there was interference from others. Better yet, even after Eva and Naomi had intervened, Lynch picked up the win by making Natalya tap out in the middle of the ring.

Much like the tag-team division, WWE must be wary of simply sending everyone out there for the same segment. That in mind, it actually worked better for the women than it did for the tag guys. Everybody concerned looked better for having been involved in this one.
