6 Ways Roman Reigns' WWE Suspension Could Play Out

5. Vince Makes Him Put Over Other Talent

One of Vince McMahon’s strangest managing tactics has been to bury or embarrass his wrestlers on-air when they’ve done something wrong. Instead of fining them, or giving them a stern lecture backstage, he damages their credibility in front of millions to prove that he’s the one who can make or break their career.

When JBL was ridiculously stiff with his punches on the Blue Meanie’s face at One Night Stand, he had to job to him in a match on SmackDown. Mickie James gained a little weight in real-life, and she suddenly becomes Piggy James. Chris Masters is busted for the Wellness Policy, and Triple H mocks him on-air for it...it goes on and on. With Roman being one of Vince’s most prized possessions, he probably won’t turn into the next Heath Slater, but he may have to lose a couple big matches so he knows who’s boss.

Perhaps Roman can be used to put over his old stable mate Dean Ambrose, to help legitimize his title run. After that, he does the favors for Bray Wyatt. When all is forgiven, and enough time has passed, Vince gives his chosen one another shot at a being the face of the company.

Hopefully next time it works out better for him.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
