7 New Directions For WWE After Night Of Champions 2025

WWE has a massive decision to make.

Do they go with Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena one on one again? Alternatively, a Triple Threat pitting Cena vs. Cody vs. Punk is on the table. Or, would Cena defending against Cody, CM Punk, Seth Rollins and possibly even one other (Randy Orton?) be the best course of action? If it's the latter, then they're in for a tough sell to explain away that 5-way, but nothing’s impossible. Seth would probs have to drop his Money In The Bank briefcase first though.

After all, why would the 'Architect' want to compete in the match at all if he could just interject later on and pick some bones clean? It wouldn't make any sense for him to go through an entire bout against elite workers if he could have an easy shift. That's why going with Cody vs. Cena in singles or adding Punk (who got screwed over at Night Of Champions) in as a third man sounds like the most savvy way to go about things.

The problem staring Triple H in the face with Rhodes going after Cena is that their rematch would require something a bit different to make it stand out from the one at WrestleMania 41. Let's put that another way: They'd need a gimmick or some sort of special stipulation so the bout didn't come across as a rinse and repeat knock off of a fight that wasn't even too well received in April.

Monday's Raw should give some indication as to what WWE's decision makers think is best.
