7 New Directions For WWE After Night Of Champions 2025
3. Seth Rollins Thinking Twice Next Time
Reborn calculated heel Seth Rollins was booked to look like he reckoned rolling into Night Of Champions and pulling the same cash-in spot he did at WrestleMania 31 a decade ago was definitely on the cards. Then, that blew up in his face when John Cena shut down a Money In The Bank briefcase cash-in attempt mid-main event. Seth had to settle for pretty much costing old rival CM Punk the chance to become champion himself.
Logically, a thinking man’s villain like Seth would listen to advice from the ever-crafty Paul Heyman and be more careful with the ticking time bomb that is MITB in future. In theory, he could've lost his guaranteed title shot by cashing in too early and focusing far more on Punk than Cena. This isn't a mistake he who wants to run roughshod on the Monday Night Raw landscape should be keen to make again.
That's a solid enough reason for Rollins to clutch the briefcase close to his chest and be picky about when and where he pokes his nose in. It'd actually be kinda cool if he and Heyman had a second case made that didn't have the contract inside. Then, if needed, both could argue that Seth didn't actually cash in on a technicality - he just wanted to cause some damage and a distraction to others. Tricky way of booking things, but not too far-fetched.
Long story short, Rollins should lean on Paul E's wisdom and think twice about cashing in when there are so many moving parts.
